– Night departure for the 3-day Kumrat Valley trip. After a short refreshment stop, take the motorway towards Kumrat Valley. The distance is approximately 700 km, which takes 13 to 14 hours to cover.
– Participants from Islamabad will be picked up for the tour, which takes 8-9 hours (375 km) to reach Kumrat, after arriving in Upper Dir, and breakfast in Timergara at 9:00 AM. Drive to Thal, where we switch to jeeps to continue our journey to Kumrat Valley, departing at 4:00 PM. Check into our camps or huts around 4 PM, followed by dinner and a bonfire at 9:00 PM. Overnight accommodations will be in Kumrat Valley.
– The next morning, wake-up call will be at 7:00 AM, followed by breakfast at 8:00 AM. Embark on an off-road jeep ride to Kala Chashma to explore the Black Streams and the Panjkorha River. A short 10-minute trek will take us to the Kumrat Waterfall, where we will spend an hour. The jeep safari is a full-day adventure for sightseeing in the lush Kumrat Forest. Back to our camps or huts for a night’s stay. Overnight stay in Kumrat Valley.
– The next morning, breakfast at the hotel will be at 8:00 AM, followed by check-out at 9:00 AM. We will visit the historic 19th-century Thal Masjid, located by the river en route to Lahore. Refreshment stops will be made on our way back. We expect to reach Islamabad by 6:00 PM and Lahore by 7:00 PM.
Kumrat Valley is a stunning 35 km long valley situated in the Upper Dir district of KPK, Pakistan. In recent years, it has attracted many visitors due to its dense forests and untamed beauty. It is located adjacent to Chitral and the Swat Valley. Key attractions include the Deodar forests, rugged mountains, the crystal-clear Panjkora River, impressive waterfalls, and several picturesque lakes.
The Kumrat Waterfall is approximately 12-13 km from Thal town. The waterfall cascades down a large rocky mountain and flows into the Panjkora River. It is not directly visible from the Kumrat Road, so visitors need to hike a bit to view it. Numerous hotels, campsites, and food stalls are available in the vicinity of the waterfall.
To reach Jahaz Banda from Thal, you can hire a jeep to take you to Takai Banda, which takes about 1 hour. From Takai Banda, you can enjoy an easy 2-3 hour trek to Jahaz Banda Meadows. Additionally, Jahaz Banda offers two trekking options to Kund Banda and Katora Lake.
