To reach the Ratti Gali base camp, we had to go off-roading for 4 hours in 4×4 jeeps from Kel. We used a Pajero (8 to 10 people can sit), which was very comfortable and cost you Rs.12,000 to Rs.15,000. The road was the worst seen in all of Kashmir! The views are amazing and keep you entertained.

The lake is calm and beautiful. We visited around noon and found very few people there. The base camp has great chefs who prepare tasty meals after your hike. Remember to order your food before you leave for the hike, as cooking takes time at high altitudes. The base camp also has a clean public toilet, but it only has cold water.
