To get to Skardu directly from Islamabad, you must road travel 700 km via Babusar Pass, and from Lahore 1220 km which takes 12 to 18 hours respectively. Once you are in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, you have two options to travel to Hunza Valley.
The first is to fly directly to Skardu airport, which takes an almost 1-hour scenic aerial flight above the Karakoram and Himalayan Ranges. By air distance from Islamabad to Skardu is about 318 km (198 miles). You can hire local cars and Prados to explore the tourist attractions of Skardu on a per-day rental basis.
You can ride on public transport like Faisal Movers, K-2, and Mashaburam Travel buses at affordable prices via Karakoram Highway. The ticket price is almost 4500 to 5000 per person one way.
